Our approach

Hiring a cybersecurity specialist ensures your company is digitally secured and that a cyberattack is quickly detected if one does occur. At Peakproteqt, a specialist works in three phases: first, we look at where you are vulnerable, then we provide advice and help resolve the issues, and finally, we provide continuous monitoring. Each phase delivers something you can read and understand yourself, even without an IT background.
01

Analysis of your current situation

We examine your environment from the outside and the inside. Can someone send emails on behalf of your domain because SPF, DKIM, and DMARC are missing? Is MFA (logging in with a second step, such as a code on your phone) enabled on all accounts? Are there laptops running without updates? You will receive an overview of the risks in order of urgency, in plain language.
02

Start securing your digital environment

A report alone protects nothing. As a cybersecurity advisor/specialist, we create a plan with the necessary measures and determine which findings require the highest priority. The cybersecurity specialist then implements this together with your IT provider: from MFA and a password vault to closing off access that is no longer needed by anyone.
03

Periodic monitoring to ensure everything is still secure

After that, we can continue to monitor your digital environment. We do this both during and outside of office hours with MDR (Managed Detection & Response). If our SOC (Security Operations Center, the team that assesses all alerts) spots something suspicious, such as a login from an unknown country or ransomware starting up, we intervene and you will hear immediately what happened.

Collaborating with your existing IT provider

The most common question we get: do I have to switch IT providers? No. We are security specialists, not an IT provider. We work alongside your administrator, not in their place.

Who does what?

An IT generalist knows your entire environment and ensures everything works. A cybersecurity specialist dives deep into one specific area: how attackers get in and how to stop them. That is how the two divide the work.

How we complement each other

We integrate with your existing Microsoft environment. No migration, no new supplier contracts for your management.
Findings from our monitoring are sent to your IT provider as advice: what, where, and why we need to secure outstanding items.
In the event of an incident, we isolate first and consult later. Your administrator gets the same view as you do, at the same time.
We discuss in advance who does what and when in the event of a security incident. This prevents any debate about who should have seen or done what.

Common risks

Almost every scan we perform reveals the same three issues. Not exotic attack techniques, but neglected maintenance that points the way for an attacker. All three can be resolved without needing to replace anything.

Ransomware

You are dealing with ransomware when your files are suddenly encrypted and hackers demand a ransom for them. You can no longer use your system or files, so what now? It is one of the biggest risks at the moment, and far from every organization is well-prepared for it.
Standardized process for onboarding and offboarding
MFA on all accounts, including new ones
Shared passwords in a vault
Overview of who has access to what

Data breaches

It happens more and more often, and all your data ends up on the street. This, combined with using the same password for multiple services, creates a major risk. The hacker doesn't need to crack anything; they simply log in. Without MFA and dark web monitoring, they can be in your account unnoticed in no time.
Investigating how the attacker got in
Checking for remaining access
Securing your digital environment
Drafting an incident response plan

Phishing

The #1 attack method for gaining access to companies. One of your employees is distracted for a moment before their break and enters their details on a malicious website.
Suddenly, they have access to your account and your systems. Without security monitoring, you won't discover this until it's too late.

Who we are

Our team

Peakproteqt is a small team based in Elst. You won't be talking to an account manager who passes your query along, but to the specialists who monitor your environment themselves. Read more about Peakproteqt as a cybersecurity company.

Experience and background

Rik Bergevoet, owner of Peakproteqt, started as an independent security specialist before founding Peakproteqt. The team reinforces this experience with certifications such as CISSP, SSCP, Microsoft SC-200, and CompTIA CySA+. Our MDR service is backed by a SOC that monitors your environment both during and outside of office hours.

Our approach - personal and hands-on

We believe in short lines of communication and regular contact. For many companies, IT—and especially cybersecurity—feels like a distant, complex world, and we want to bridge that gap. We do this by scheduling a CyberCheck-In every four months: together, we review what’s going well, what can be improved, and what we should tackle next. Additionally, our MDR dashboard provides a live overview of what is happening within your organization.
